About Us

History

Bryn Hall was established by John and Hazel Phillips in 1993 and was
originally based near Overton-on-Dee in North Wales. With their
backgrounds in furniture and antiques, John and Hazel identified a gap
in the market for high quality yet affordable bespoke British made
furniture, and for over a decade they sold purely through exhibiting at
shows up and down the country. The business gained a solid reputation
not only for quality products but for a high level of service which
still keeps customers returning and recommending Bryn Hall time and
again.

It was when daughter Alison Carthy, a former Director of Tesco, joined
the company that Bryn Hall sought out their first retail premises. A
derelict silk ribbon mill in Congleton presented the perfect opportunity
for them and following a substantial restoration project, Bryn Hall at
the Mill opened its doors for business in August 2005. For more
information on Bryn Hall at the Mill, please click here.

Since then Bryn Hall has gone from strength to strength, updating and
extending their range of furniture and home accessories, continuing to
exhibit throughout the UK on a regular basis, and building their profile
and reputation both locally and nationally. It's also said that if ever
you find yourself in the Congleton area in need of a slice of homemade
cake, you can't beat the Mill coffee shop!
