Viewings and workshop visits
Viewings and workshop visits are by appointment. Ring or email and we will arrange a time.
It is worth doing. Photographs show you a finished piece under studio lighting; the workshop shows you a carcase dry-assembled on the bench, a drawer being fitted to its own opening, a moulding being run and a colour being built up in the polishing shop. Most people understand what they are buying far better after half an hour here.
Viewings run between 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. Mickfield sits between Stowmarket and Debenham, a few minutes off the A140, and there is plenty of parking on site. Tell us roughly what you are interested in when you book, and we will make sure something relevant is on the bench.
What to tell us
An enquiry is easier to answer well when it carries four things: the piece, the timber, roughly the size, and when you would like it. None of them need to be settled, and a photograph of something you like is often the most useful thing you can send.
If you are matching an existing piece, say so at the outset. It changes how we select timber and how we approach the finish, and it is much easier to plan for at the start than to retrofit later.
Enquiry form
The form should capture the following fields.
- Name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- The piece or range you are interested in — free text, or a selection from the ranges and furniture types
- Timber — oak, cherry, mahogany, walnut, character oak, pippy oak, not sure yet
- Finish — polished, painted, limed, sand-blasted, rub-through paint, natural, colour matched to a sample, not sure yet
- Approximate dimensions — free text. Width, depth and height, in whatever units suit you, and say if a dimension is fixed by an alcove or a ceiling
- Timescale — when you would like the piece, or whether there is a fixed date
- How did you find us? — free text or selection
Only your name, email and a line about what you want are genuinely required. Everything else helps us give you a straight answer first time.
You can attach a photograph, a sketch or a measurement of the space. All three are welcome.
Free samples first
If you have not chosen a timber or a finish, start there rather than here. Timber and finish samples are free, posted out, and commit you to nothing. Colour is judged in your own room or it is not judged properly.
You can also request the catalogue, which we send as a PDF.
What happens after you get in touch
We reply, ask whatever we need to ask, and quote in writing against an agreed specification. Where a piece needs drawing, our designers draw it and you approve the drawing before anything is cut.
Standard designs typically take ten to twelve weeks from order to delivery. A genuine one-off bespoke piece typically adds around four weeks. If you have a fixed date, tell us early and we will say honestly whether it is realistic.
The full sequence is set out on how commissioning works.
Fitted work and whole-house projects
Bookcases, panelling, wardrobes and whole rooms can be commissioned through Bryn Hall and are made in the same workshop.
For full architectural joinery, kitchens and whole-house interiors, our sister company Reeve & Co Interiors handles the work. Bryn Hall is part of the Reeve & Co family of companies.
We keep your details only to answer your enquiry. See our privacy notice.
