Panelled bed

Turned and panelled bed, side view — handmade by Bryn Hall in Suffolk

A panelled bed is one where the headboard and footboard are built as framed and panelled joinery: a frame of stiles and rails with solid panels held loose inside it, in the way a good door or a panelled wall is made.

Standard sizes: 137 × 191 × 122 cm (54″ × 75¼″ × 48″); 152 × 198 × 122 cm (59¾″ × 78″ × 48″); 183 × 198 × 122 cm (72″ × 78″ × 48″).

Price is for the piece. Delivery and fitting are quoted separately, depending on access.

Made to order in oak, cherry, mahogany or walnut in our Suffolk workshop. Prices include VAT.

Description

Made to knock down, so it will go up a stair and through a door. Our own people bring it and build it in the room. Delivery and fitting are quoted separately, because every house is different: a third-floor bedroom up a narrow stair is a different job from a ground-floor room with easy access. We will confirm the cost before you order.

Sizes are given as mattress width and length; bases and mattresses are not supplied.

Normally twelve weeks from approved drawings to delivery, and up to sixteen when the workshop is busy. Every piece is drawn before it is made, and nothing is cut until you have approved the drawing.

Timber and finish samples are £10 each, refunded against your order. The price includes our standard hand-applied polished finish.
